Here are the games I’m looking forward to at this year’s Gamescom which is starting today.
Far Cry 6
The very first Far Cry game I played was the second one. It was a great first-person shooter that gave you lots of room to explore. I played a bit of 3 and completed 4. I haven’t tried 5 yet but really looking forward to it.
The games have you wage war against an enemy using weapons, vehicles and various skills that you can unlock by levelling up. It uses the Ubisoft tried and tested formula of climbing towers to reveal the map. There’s also a stealth element which if you complete a stronghold without being spotted you normally get a bonus.
The main antagonist in the previous few games has been almost comic-like characters with lots of personality and drive. From the trailers I’ve seen so far of 6, it doesn’t look like they will disappoint.
Saints Row at Gamescom
I’m not going to go into too much detail as I already covered what I want to see in this new iteration in the series, click here to see the post
Splitgate’s Future
Apparently, there is going to be a Splitgate announcement, maybe the game is finally coming out of beta but we will see. I’m hoping there will be more maps and more variety in their terrain. And also I would also like to see bigger matches. Oh and also the removal of the login queue.
Elden Ring
A new game from the creators of the Souls games. I haven’t heard much about this one and I want to remain in the dark (souls) until it comes out. These are very unforgiving games however they are very fair and forces you to rely less on the RPG elements and more on perfecting your tactics.
The last game I preordered was Dark Souls 3, which came with a model. I don’t think I’ll be doing that this time around as I never completed that game.
